Oregon Street Improvements

SW Oregon St Improvements | Langer Farms Pkwy to Murdock Roundabout

Conceptual Design Flythrough Video

The City of Sherwood and their design consultant, Kittelson & Associates, are completing design plans to improve, modernize and widen SW Oregon Street between SW Langer Farms Parkway and the roundabout at SW Murdock Rd as well as provide storm treatment for the entire upstream drainage basin towards Snyder Park.

The design is currently at the 90% design phase with the design work on-hold for the next 6-months while the City pursues $5M in EPA Brownsfield Site Cleanup grant funds to cleanup the adjacent Tannery Site, which if the EPA cleanup grant funds were awarded to the City the SW Oregon Street Improvements & Regional Stormwater Management Facility project would likely be completed at the same time for a more cost-effective project with less construction impacts upon the community.

Then benefits of a combined project are sufficient enough to warrant pausing the design efforts on this project due to the environmental permit implications, specifically impacts to the DSL-USACE wetland fill/removal permits, CWS vegetated corridor (wetland buffer) permits, as well as the environmental cleanup permits required for the Tannery Site Cleanup project.

The schedule for this project will be determined over the next 4 months after results of the EPA grants are released in May 2024 after which design efforts for this project will recommence in-earnest.

Construction is partially funded and the 60% engineer’s opinion-of-probable cost for budgeting purposes is $6M for a fully loaded CIP construction phase project (not including design costs & ROW acquisition costs).

City staff is currently revising the scope, schedule and budget for this project as part of the annual CIP plan update efforts. The CIP program project list is approved annually at least 30-days prior to adoption of the City budget.
