Citations can be handled in the following ways:

Appear before the Judge at the Arraignment Hearing. The Date, Time and Location for your arraignment is shown on the bottom of the Summons page.  At this time you will make your plea and the Judge will make a consideration of a fine reduction or determine eligibility for the Court’s Diversion program.

Appear at the Municipal Court Offices, located at City Hall, before your Arraignment Hearing Date for consideration of a fine reduction or eligibility for the Court’s Diversion program.

Pay your fine online by going to the website:   (Paying online requires you to enter a docket/complaint number and a plea of Guilty during that process).

Each year thousands of people are killed in traffic related accidents. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in 2012 there was a total of 34,080 deaths related to motor vehicle crashes. Red light cameras are one tool used by hundreds of law enforcement agencies across the country to modify driver behavior and make our roads safer.

In the City of Sherwood, we focus on making our roadways a safer place for us to drive. As such, the Municipal Court has established the Vehicle Compliance Program. This program offers you the opportunity to correct a vehicle equipment defect, prior to your court date, in exchange for dismissal of the cited violation.

If you have received a traffic or ordinance violation within the City of Sherwood, the following links may be helpful resources.

The City of Sherwood Municipal Court processes citations for Traffic Violations and certain other Non-Felony Offenses committed within the City.

For all offenses, if you want to appear before a Judge, you must appear at your scheduled arraignment on the Date and Time stated on the bottom of the Summons page.

  1. Am I eligible for a reduction of my citation?
    For consideration or eligibility of a fine reduction you can appear on the court date reflected on your citation, or appear at the court’s counter during office hours.
  2. Can I set up a payment plan?
    Yes.  To set up a plan please come to the court counter during office hours.  Please note that fines not paid within 30 days are subject to a one-time fee of 25% of the unpaid balance.
  3. Can I pay the citation over the phone with my credit card?
