Photo Enforcement

Photo light

Each year, thousands of people are killed in traffic-related accidents. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in 2012 there was a total of 34,080 deaths related to motor vehicle crashes. Red light cameras are one tool used by hundreds of law enforcement agencies across the country to modify driver behavior and make our roads safer. The City of Sherwood began monitoring two of its intersections with a Red Light Photo Enforcement Program in November of 2010 and added Speed Enforcement in October of 2018.  All evidence packages are reviewed by local law enforcement before citations are issued.

If you have received a Photo Enforcement Citation, refer to the Instruction Page located in the citation packet.  It explains your available options and provides information to access a 12-second video of the violation online.
