Sherwood adds Additional Measures due to Covid-19 Emergency

As anticipated, the City of Sherwood is adding some additional measures as part of the local emergency that was declared on March 12th due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation.  These measures include:

Sherwood Municipal Court will suspend holding court sessions in City Hall starting on Monday, March 16th.  Payments for citations will still be accepted as normal during regular business hours.
Sherwood Public Library will close to the public starting on Saturday, March 14th.  Although closed, we will continue to accept books and materials in the book drops located in the rear parking lot and Pine Street entrances.  As a reminder, Countywide online services will still be available, such as e-books, streaming video, etc.
Similar to other utilities, Sherwood Water will not disconnect water service to customers based upon overdue balances.  Customers are reminded that they are still responsible for their respective bills for service.

The time period for these changes is for the duration of the local emergency declaration which extends until March 26, 2020.  Please note that the City may extend the local emergency declaration beyond this date and will continue to assess the situation as it relates to Covid-19 in our community and state on an ongoing basis. “We understand that the inconvenience caused by these measures may be frustrating to our residents and customers, but it is done with the intent of ‘flattening the curve’ of this infection,” stated Joseph Gall, City Manager.  “Our community is coming together in so many ways to tackle this emergency and we will get through the challenge together.”
