CITY COUNCIL APPOINTS INTERIM CITY MANAGER

At a special meeting on April 1st, the Sherwood City Council appointed City Hall veteran Kristen Switzer to the City Manager Pro Tem position.  Switzer is the current Community Services Director for the City and has worked for the organization for almost twenty years.  She will become the interim City Manager upon the departure of current City Manager Joseph Gall in May.  Gall is leaving for a position with Clean Water Services after nearly nine years with the City of Sherwood.

Switzer will immediately be elevated to the interim Assistant City Manager position to work closely with Gall over the coming weeks to prepare for her new role leading the organization. “Kristen has been a key member of our senior leadership team for many years and I am excited to see her step up to this new challenge,” stated Gall.  “I am confident that she will do a great job during the upcoming months until a new City Manager is selected.”

Kristen has an extensive background in local government and worked for the cities of Lake Oswego and Newport Beach, California before joining the City of Sherwood. Kristen holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon and recently graduated from the NW Women’s Leadership Academy, a nine-month professional development cohort for emerging local government leaders in Oregon and Washington.
