Public Comment Period:

Oregon Law typically requires the City to permit any person to appear in person to ask questions or comment on public hearing matters. However, due to COVID-19 restrictions, persons interested in participating may provide written comments at least 24 hours in advance of a hearing to rutledgee@sherwoodoregon.gov. An email submitted must clearly state that it is intended as testimony for a public hearing, the specific public hearing topic for which it is intended and must be received at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled meeting time.

In addition, the Planning Commission will set aside time to permit the public to add comments during the hearing. During the live Planning Commission meeting, public testimony on hearing and non-hearing items can be given. To participate, please call or email Eric Rutledge at 503-625-4242 or rutledgee@sherwoodoregon.gov by 5:00 PM on Monday, March 7, 2022, to receive instructions.

Public testimony should be limited to the findings of fact in the Staff Report, the above criteria, or other City or State applicable land use standards. Only those persons who provide testimony may appeal the decision. Failure to raise an issue accompanied by statements or evidence sufficient to afford the decision-maker and the parties an opportunity to respond to the issue will preclude appeal, on said issue, to the Appeal Authority or State Land Use Board of Appeals (LUBA).
