Emergency Management
Are you and your family prepared in the event of an emergency? An emergency can occur quickly and without warning. Do you have enough food, water and supplies for 3 days? What about 10 days? Did you know that it is recommended for you to have supplies for 14 days for each member of your family - and any pets, too! If this is overwhelming and you do not know where to start, here is a guide to help you begin.
Are you signed up for One Call Notifications or Flash Alerts? It is a critical step in being prepared in the event of an emergency. One Call Notification is the City's latest tool for providing residents with immediate information and warnings on water contamination, extreme weather warnings, unexpected road closures, etc. The FlashAlert system distributes emergency messages, such as breaking news or weather closure information, and news releases. Both services are free and easy to enroll. Please take a moment and visit the web sites. You will be one step closer to being prepared for an emergency.
A new and informative website is now available as an additional tool in your emergency preparedness. Take 5 to Survive is a website recently created by Washington County to help individuals and families get prepared! We highly suggest visiting it to help with your preparedness efforts.
