Information for parents and educators.

Getting started: Visit WCCLS’s Kanopy site and create an account by clicking on the “Sign Up” button. Check your email in order to verify your email address. Add your library card number and password. That’s it! You’re ready to watch.

Compatible devices: Kanopy videos can be viewed on computers and mobile devices via a web browser. The Kanopy app is available for iOS and Android devices, as well Kindle Fire, Roku and Apple TV. You can also view Kanopy videos with Chromecast or via HDMI cable. An internet connection is required. Find more information here.

Monthly usage limit: Users are issued 20 play credits per month. Clicking “play” on a video will automatically redeem a play credit. Play credits reset on the first day of the month and do not rollover. Viewing videos on the Kanopy Kids section, however, does not affect the use of your play credits and are available for unlimited access.

Loan period: Once a play credit is redeemed, you will have unlimited access to view the video for three days (72 hours). Viewing the same video after the three days are up will redeem another play credit.

Accessibility: Kanopy’s website and video player works with screen readers on desktop browsers and iOS and Android devices. All films come with closed captions and transcripts. Learn more about Kanopy’s accessibility features.
