3D Printing Request to Sherwood Public Library

3D Printing Request

Sherwood Public Library now offers limited printing of 3D objects.

Here's how it works:

  1. Review this page for all the guidelines and requirements.
  2. Send us your file.
  3. We will contact you if we have any questions.
  4. We print your object and let you know when it is ready to pick up. (Allow 1-2 weeks.) Printed objects must be picked up by you within 4 weeks of completion.
  5. A fee of $1 per print job (or more, depending on object size) is due at the time of object pickup. We accept cash or check.
  6. You will be emailed a time-lapse video of the 3D printing of your object.

3D Printing Guidelines:

  • We use a Dremel 3D45 printer.
  • Individual objects cannot be larger than the maximum print volume [10 x 6 x 6.7 inches / 254 x 152 x 170 mm].
  • Objects will be printed in one color filament. There may not be a color choice.
  • We use PET-G or PLA filament. Both are non-toxic.
  • Print time may not exceed 6 hours.
  • Unless requested otherwise, we will remove as much scaffolding as possible from the print.
  • We will not sand, paint, or otherwise finish objects.
  • We will not print profanity, hate speech, pornographic imagery, or any objects that are offensive, lewd, harmful, illegal, or potentially dangerous.
  • Limit of two (2) print jobs per month per person.
  • We reserve the right to use photos and video of your print in library marketing unless specifically requested not to.
