Sherwood Public Library Welcomes and Celebrates Immigrants
Join us for a month-long celebration of the national Welcoming Week! We are hosting a series of World Language Storytimes in Hindi, Spanish, Arabic, and Vietnamese, and culturally-specific craft activities for children. Join us for a Ballet Folklórico dance performance at Sherwood Center for the Arts. Visit our refreshed Welcoming Corner in the library with resources for immigrants and anyone new to our community.
This series is supported by the Oregon Cultural Trust and the Cultural Coalition of Washington County. Support future grants from the Oregon Cultural Trust by donating at culturaltrust.org.

Join us for a month-long celebration of the national Welcoming Week, including a series of World Language Storytimes.
Meet us at the Library, in-person, 10:15 a.m., on Tuesdays:
- September 6 – Hindi / सहंदी
- September 13 – Spanish / español
- September 20 – Arabic / عربى
- September 27 – Vietnamese / tiếng Việt
Join us for this exciting Ballet Folklórico dance performance, by Ballet Folklórico Corazones Alegres, a local dance troupe in Washington County. Saturday, September 24, 11:00 a.m. at Sherwood Center for the Arts.
In honor of India and our upcoming World Language Storytime in Hindi, we are providing a tiger craft kit to take and make at home starting September 3.
This craft is for ages 2-7.
In honor of Latin America and our upcoming World Language Storytime in Spanish, we are providing a mini terra cotta pinch pot craft kit to take and make at home starting September 10.
This craft is for ages 2-7.
In honor of the Middle East and our upcoming World Language Storytime in Arabic, we are providing a camel craft kit to take and make at home starting September 17.
This craft is for ages 2-7.
In honor of Vietnam and our upcoming World Language Storytime in Vietnamese, we are providing a dragonfly craft kit to take and make at home starting September 24.
This craft is for ages 2-7.
