The City of Sherwood completes many maintenance tasks during specific seasons. Discover below what activities happen when.

Activities in the spring include Unidirectional Hydrant Flushing, Cross-Connection and Backflow testing and much more.

Cross-Connection/Backflow

Customers who have cross connections are responsible for preventing contaminants from entering the public water system through their individual plumbing system.

Hydrant Flushing Program

Our hydrant flushing program is very important to our water system. It is part of our ongoing effort to deliver the safest and highest quality water possible.

In the summer you can expect Street Maintenance, Sidewalk repairs and a lot of Maintenance in the Parks.

Sidewalk Repair Assistance Program

The goal of the Concrete Sidewalk Repair Assistance Program is to prevent and repair sidewalk trip hazards in a timely manner.

Street Maintenance

The City of Sherwood Public Works Department regularly reviews and schedules various repairs on all of the city’s streets.

With Fall comes the leaves and the Curbside Leaf Pick-up Program and other activities.

Curbside Leaf Pick-up Program

The Curbside Leaf Program helps reduce flooding caused by leaves clogging storm drains.

The cold rainy weather keeps the crews busy with street sanding and other preparations for colder temperatures.

Sandbag Sites

In the worst rainstorms and flooding events certain Washington County agencies will provide sandbags to divert water.  The City of Sherwood Public Works Department offers free sand and sandbags to residents.
