City of Sherwood Seeks Applicants for Planning Commission Vacancy

May 1, 2026

The City of Sherwood is currently accepting applications to fill a vacancy on its seven-member Planning Commission. This position will serve a term running through June 2030 and is open to individuals who reside within the city limits. The Planning Commission plays a vital role in shaping the community’s future by developing, maintaining, and implementing the City’s Comprehensive Plan and land use regulations, while also reviewing development proposals and holding public hearings on select land use actions.

Planning Commissioners provide valuable guidance to City Council and staff on long-range planning efforts related to land use, transportation, and community development. The Commission typically meets twice a month on the second and fourth Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall, with occasional work sessions beginning as early as 5:30 p.m. Interested community members can learn more and apply through the City’s website; applications will remain open until the position is filled, with the first round of reviews beginning May 22, 2026.
