Slurry Seal Road Maintenance Begins Wednesday, July 29
July 21, 2026The City of Sherwood will begin the next phase of its roadway maintenance program on Wednesday, July 29, with slurry seal treatment on several neighborhood streets.
Slurry seal is a preventative maintenance treatment that helps preserve pavement, extend the life of roadways, and improve driving surfaces. While the work is temporary, it plays an important role in protecting the City’s investment in its transportation infrastructure.

A detailed schedule showing the streets affected and their planned closure dates is available in the attached project notice.
During construction, affected streets will be temporarily closed while the slurry seal is applied and allowed to cure. Closures typically last approximately 4 to 7 hours, depending on weather conditions and drying time.
Residents are asked to:
- Review the attached schedule for their street’s closure date.
- Move vehicles before work begins and avoid parking on affected streets during scheduled closures.
- Avoid driving on freshly treated roads until they have reopened.
- Plan ahead for temporary access restrictions.
