Heat Advisory in Effect July 21-22
July 20, 2026The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for our area from 10:00am Tuesday, July 21, through 11:00pm Wednesday, July 22. Forecasted high temperatures of 97°F on Tuesday and 96°F on Wednesday may increase the risk of heat-related illness.
Residents are encouraged to take precautions to stay safe during the heat. Drink plenty of water, stay in air-conditioned spaces when possible, avoid strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day, and check on family, friends, neighbors, and others who may be especially vulnerable to extreme heat, including older adults, young children, and those without adequate cooling. Be sure to provide pets with plenty of fresh water and a cool place to rest.
If you need a place to cool down, the Sherwood Public Library will be open during its regular hours:
- Tuesday: 10:00am – 7:00pm
- Wednesday: 10:00am – 7:00pm
