Planning a Garage Sale or Event? Review Sign Guidelines
May 6, 2026As warmer weather arrives, the City of Sherwood is seeing an increase in garage sales, community events, and temporary signage throughout the community. To help residents and businesses promote their events successfully while keeping streets safe and accessible, the City is sharing a reminder about temporary/portable sign guidelines.
A few of the most important reminders include placing signs only during permitted weekend hours in the public right-of-way, ensuring signs are freestanding (not attached to poles, street signs, or trees), and avoiding locations that could create safety concerns, such as busy roadways, medians, or roundabouts.
Residents are encouraged to review the full guidelines before placing signs to ensure compliance and help maintain a safe, clean, and visually accessible community for all.
