WCCLS Student Cards for SSD
Welcome to the public library!
We are delighted to partner with Sherwood School District to offer parents and guardians a new option for getting a library card from Washington County Cooperative Library Services for their students.
Here’s more about how the WCCLS Student Card works:
- How does a student sign up for the WCCLS Student Card? Parents and guardians receive information about opting into this Student Card from Sherwood School District.
- What can students do with this card? Students can check out up to five books/audiobooks from any member library of WCCLS and use the digital library. They will also be able to access e-books and audiobooks using SORA, an app for e-books and audiobooks that schools use.
- Are there overdue fees? No. There are only fees if an item comes back damaged or is lost.
- Where can WCCLS materials be returned? At any WCCLS member library location. Sherwood Public Library (22560 SW Pine Street, Sherwood) has book drops that are available after-hours.
- How do students access checkout information? Records are updated instantly at wccls.org and accessible with the library card number and PIN. The paper check-out receipt will also say the dates items are due.
- Will students receive reminders of checkouts on their accounts? WCCLS sends courtesy notifications by phone/ voicemail. Add an email address for additional notifications.
- Can contact information be edited? Yes. Login to wccls.org with the library card and PIN. Click on “My Settings”.
- How can I help my student use age-appropriate library materials? SORA has reading suggestions for students based on publishers’ descriptions for reading levels. The WCCLS catalog and Libby e-books catalogs have many settings to filter and search content to help find what you are looking for. We’re happy to show you how.
- How is privacy protected? WCCLS takes steps to protect the privacy and confidentiality of all patrons. WCCLS does not share personal information or check immigration status. Students’ public library reading records are protected under Oregon law.
