The City of Sherwood, Oregon, including subagencies, is seeking public comment on the agency’s intent to submit a grant application for $2M+ in Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Brownfields grant funds that would be used to prepare final plans & bid documents, create the final contaminated media management plan, obtain all necessary site-grading & construction permits, and complete the site cleanup project and leave the site pre-graded with the environmental enhancements completed along the north floodplain side of the Tannery Site until the site is developed for future public use. The cleanup efforts will follow 1 of the 4 alternatives identified in the Revised Analysis of Brownfield Cleanup Alternatives (ABCA) report dated July 2018, which is available for review on the City’s webpage linked below. As part of the grant application process, the City of Sherwood will host a meeting to solicit public input on Monday, November 13th, 2023 at Sherwood City Hall, Community Room (1st Floor), 22560 SW Pine St., Sherwood, OR 97140.
