2023 Tualatin Riverkeepers Green Heron Fundraiser

Calendar Date:
Saturday, October 7, 2023 - 4:30pm

The Tualatin Valley is home to a diverse array of farms, wineries, artists, and residents that make this watershed worth protecting, and we’re proud to host our 2023 event at one of these places. Alpaca Farm and Gardens, at the confluence of McKernan Creek and the Tualatin River, was one of the first alpaca farms in the United States and was an important historic gathering place for the Atfalati people. Over nearly 40 years, the owners of Alpaca Farm & Gardens have restored their riparian corridors while operating a thriving farm that is also home to the Quechua Benefit, a nonprofit supporting the indigenous people who shepherd alpacas in the remote highlands of Peru. We’re excited to celebrate this spirit of care for the land and people, and recognition of its cultural history as a theme for our event and an anchor of our work moving forward.

The event will feature up to 150 guests, with food, drink, and music provided directly by some of the talented residents of the Tualatin Valley. Guests will be invited to participate in a Swan Boat Photo Booth and to interact with our alpaca friends while enjoying traditional elements of past Green Heron fundraisers such as a wine wall (featuring watershed wineries, of course!) and live auction.

If you have an item you'd like to donate to our silent or live auction, please email brittany@tualatinriverkeepers.org. For a complete list of sponsor benefits or to discuss your interest, email glenn@tualatinriverkeepers.org.
