SUMMARY:Music on the Green: Melody Guy
DESCRIPTION:The City of Sherwood and Sherwood Dental Care are proud to present the 30th annual Music on the Green concert series! We are excited for the return of live music at Stella Olsen Park. This year the series will host FIVE bands/artists. Concerts happen every Wednesday\, 6:30pm – 8:30pm\, from July 8  August 5. For a full list of bands\, sponsors\, food vendors and other details go to musiconthegreen.net! \nBring a lawn chair or blanket\, your picnic goodies\, and settle down for an evening of relaxation and entertainment!  \nFood and beverage will be available for purchase from a handful of vendors – convenient for those coming straight from work\, out of town OR if you don’t feel like packing a meal!  \nThis week\, we welcome Melody Guy to the Music on the Green stage! \nABOUT THE ARTIST:\n \nMelody Guy is a Nashville-based singer-songwriter\, guitarist\, and road-tested troubadour whose fearless storytelling\, unforgettable voice\, and emotional authenticity have carried her across more than two million touring miles throughout the United States. \nBlending Americana\, rock\, country\, soul\, and pop\, Melody’s sound has drawn comparisons to iconic voices such as Eva Cassidy\, Linda Ronstadt\, Bonnie Raitt\, and Grace Slick. Melody has earned standing ovations at the Ryman Auditorium and shared stages with an impressive range of artists including Keith Urban\, Tanya Tucker\, Leon Russell\, Nanci Griffith\, The Avett Brothers\, Ashley McBryde\, Maren Morris\, Amy Grant\, and John Michael Montgomery. \nHer newest album\, Train to Dreamland\, marks her evolution as both songwriter and producer. The 15-track record blends driving rock energy with Americana soul\, intimate storytelling\, and richly layered musicianship. Her previous album\, Dry the Rivers\, received a full album premiere in Billboard and further established her as a distinctive and compelling voice in Americana music. \nIn 2026\, Melody was named a finalist in the prestigious New Folk Competition at the Kerrville Folk Festival\, recognizing her songwriting among some of the most promising voices in contemporary folk and Americana music. \nBeyond the stage\, Melody is a passionate advocate for music’s healing power. She has led songwriting and choir workshops at Barefoot Republic Camp\, hosted by Amy Grant\, and has collaborated through music-centered retreats with veterans living with PTSD and residents of Thistle Farms. \nWhether performing solo\, with a small ensemble\, or with a full band\, Melody Guy brings warmth\, grit\, humor\, and emotional depth to every stage she steps on making her a favorite among listening rooms\, festivals\, and dedicated fans across the country.
