Water Operations
Our hydrant flushing program is very important to our water system. It is an integral part of our ongoing effort to deliver the safest and highest quality water possible.
The purpose of this Water System Master Plan is to perform an analysis of the City of Sherwood’s (City’s) water system an schedule activities for optimal service and budget.
The 2017 Willamette River Water Treatment Plant Master Plan Update (2017 MPU) for the Cities of Wilsonville and Sherwood defines the strategy to meet future demands, boost supply resiliency and reliability, and support responsible growth.
The City of Sherwood has an ongoing Water Management and Conservation Plan in place. The Plan was recently updated and submitted in June of 2018.
Although water main breaks are rare, they do occur from time to time. When they do happen, we immediately send our crews out to the leak and work until the leak is fixed. Water service may be interrupted. The best thing to do is be patient, leave faucets turned off, and avoid the area where the leak occurs, if possible.
“Meter Purchasing” refers to buying the right to use the water meter and paying for the demand on the City of Sherwood’s water system. Read more of this page for required worksheets and brochures.
Customers who have cross connections are responsible for preventing contaminants from entering the public water system through their individual plumbing system by installing and maintaining approved backflow prevention assemblies.
