The City Council approved revisions to the Sherwood Zoning and Community Development Code (linked above). The changes insert industrial design standards into the “Site Plan” section of the code (16.90). It also includes changes to the review process for industrial developments to allow for staff-level review if specific design standards are met and a Planning Commission review for a greater level of subjectivity. Finally, it includes changes to the Light Industrial (LI) zoning district in chapter 16.32 and the General Industrial (GI) zoning district in chapter 16.34 to comply with Title 4 of the Metro Urban Growth Management Functional Plan (UGMFP). Specifically, these changes limit the amount of space dedicated to uses that cater to daily customers. The changes would buildings that receive site plan approval after January 1, 2010. The Planning Commission made a recommendation to the City Council who made the ultimate decision.
