Welcome Volunteers!
Common Questions
This information is for those interested in volunteering at the City of Sherwood. It provides
you with answers to commonly asked questions. We look forward to serving our community
together!
What time commitment is expected of me as a City of Sherwood Volunteer?
Volunteers are required to commit to a two hour shift once a week for the duration of at least
three months.
Do I have to have a set schedule?
Shift schedules can be flexible, however, they do need to be consistent. Paid staff need to
know when to expect volunteer help. Most positions require the shared use of work space
and equipment between paid staff and volunteers, so committing to a consistent schedule is
very important. Contact the Volunteer Coordinator for available times.
How old do I need to be before I can volunteer?
Applicants who are 14 years of age will be considered for Library volunteer positions.
Applicants who are 16 years of age will be considered for City Hall volunteer positions.
