Prescribed Fire Planned for Wildlife Refuge in Early October
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service - Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge mission is to restore, maintain, and protect healthy native habitats for wildlife and provide present and future generations an opportunity to connect with nature in wild places. This fall, the Service will use use prescribed fire as an effective tool to restore habitats on a 4-acre site. The Service is partnering with local fire management and community agencies to ensure all safety measures are taken. This prescribed fire will also serve as a demonstration burn; the public is welcome to visit the Refuge on the day of the prescribed fire to see and learn about this important conservation tool. For more information, please visit our website at www.fws.gov/refuge/tualatin_river or call the Refuge at 503-625-5944.
