Sherwood's City Council is comprised of a Mayor, who presides over Council meetings, and six Councilor positions, including that of Council President. In the Mayor's absence, the Council President may substitute in the performance of mayoral duties. The Council makes appointments to and considers the recommendations of all City Boards, Commissions and Committees, reviews staff reports in conjunction with regular council meetings, participates in the deliberation of agenda items, enacts legislation, and participates in a number of regional meetings and meetings with other governmental agencies and jurisdictions.
