City Council Elections

To be eligible to run for election to the City Council, a candidate is required to be a registered voter, at least 18 years of age, and a Sherwood resident for at least 12 months. Persons interested in running for City Council can obtain a Candidate's Packet from the City Recorder’s office, Sherwood City Hall at 22560 SW Pine Street. Interested persons can file for candidacy by presenting a Declaration of Candidacy letter, a Statement of Organization and by paying a $10 filing fee or in lieu of the filing fee, submitting a petition for candidacy signed by 20 registered Sherwood voters. Paperwork must be completed and turned in prior to any campaign activity. Additional financial statements must be filed if a candidate intends to raise or spend more than $2000 in campaign funds.
